The Faithful Martyr

The lesson begins with Faithful's defense against the testimony of Envy, Superstition and Pick-Thank. The names of the jury-men are given -- which shows the emnity of the world against God and against Christians.

Faithful dies a martyr's death but from his ashes arises Hopeful. And others are said to be saved from the town of Vanity because of the strong testimony of Christian and Faithful.

By-Ends is then introduced to us. He is a man who loves religion for the business opportunities it affords. The section on By-Ends, and his friends continues on into next week.
