Torturing Ourselves

Torturing Ourselves

Torn apart in the mind... a divided heart!

There is something that we should worry over...

A Principle of Priority

Seek first... the principle of priority!

Serving Jesus, WITHOUT seeking Jesus FIRST, may appear to be noble and good on the surface but it's a sure sign of self-centered and self-righteous living. And it will inevitably MISLEAD others, like our spouses, children, grandchildren or those who know us best, to do just the same. I often need to remind myself of this "principle of priority" because I'd rather not act independent of God nor do I want my "steps of self-righteousness," which always operates WITHOUT needing to hear and honor Jesus, to mislead others... especially those I love the most.

The order and priority has not changed... it has always been, and will always be like this: PRESENT then PROVE. What do I mean? We PRESENT ourselves to Him, as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable, and He'll renew our mind and transform our ways that He may use us to PRESENT Himself to others and PROVE what is His good, acceptable and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2 and Matthew 6:33 and Proverbs 3:5-6 are all teaching us this principle of priority. It's not that we give Him the MOST or BEST of ourselves or Him being the BEST part of our lives... the priority is that He can BE our life and have ALL of us. HE gave us His life so we can give Him our lives, again and again, that He may present Himself in us and prove through us the wonders and wisdom of His grace.

Blessings... my friends, may our service for the King be the reward of our joy from seeking Him and walking in the will and way of our gracious and gentle King.
