Pursuing Spiritual Gifts Through Love

In 1 Corinthians 12:31 Paul introduces a better way to pursue spiritual gifts—through agape. Chapter 13 discusses agape love. In the first three verses, Paul uses as ascending stairway to demonstrate the importance of love. Paul uses extremes and exaggeration to prove his point. If one could speak with angelic language and not have love, he is just making noise. If he has faith to move mountains but not love, he is nothing. If he could make extreme self sacrifices but not show love, it does nothing of value.
