Zechariah 14 (Day of the Lord - Part 2)

The Lord who punished Jerusalem, the city, in verses 1 and 2 by foreign nations will in time punish those nations. The rest of Zechariah is best understood as the battle of the world's nations against Jerusalem - a type of the church. This is the heavy stone that has burdened the world from the start of Zechariah's vision in Chapter 12. The special deliverance of God's people, the success of the gospel, the kingship of Christ, and the destruction of the churches' enemies (who often destroy each other) are all foretold in this passage in highly symbolic prophetic language.
