Zephaniah: The Great Judgment

Zephaniah predicts the coming of the day of the Lord. The prophecy contains a view of the future that contains both the immanent events about to take place in that day, and the final judgment. Zephaniah means "Jehovah of Darkness", which emphasizes the severity of God's judgment: The comfort to believers is provided because God declares the restoration of Israel, which symbolizes the Church of Christ. God's patience should not mislead us into believing that God's judgment will be slow in coming.
