The Thankful Hypocrite

The Pharisee in the temple began his prayer with a word of thanksgiving. However, his thanksgiving was fatally flawed. It was only a thin veneer covering a proud, self-righteous heart. He went home condemned. But the publican who humbly sought mercy went home justified (and no doubt thankful!).
