The Promise of God
94
What drives you through the pain? What do you have to cling to when everything you love is gone? A family suffering in the rubble of the Korean war understood what it was to hang onto a seven-word-promise. A promise that was fulfilled at massive cost; that gave them hope and a family and a future. The promise of God is the vast central theme of history. There is no promise more astounding, costly, or dependable in all the world. This promise is the umbrella under which God is gathering His saints from the ruins of this hostile world, and into a kingdom that can never be shaken. Because of that, you, like the Korean survivors, can have hope. Hope that carries you through the pain.
