Through Isaiah, the Eternal Son of God said of His condescension and suffering: "I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair" (Isaiah 50:6). Peter said: "when he was reviled, he reviled not again" (1 Peter 2:23). Graciously, Jesus trod the steps toward the site of His execution, Golgotha.
