The Serpent of Brass

We come now to place where we are reminded why Israel acted so wickedly and rashly against the commandments of the LORD. The nation was unregenerate. To this day it is still unregenerate. So are all men descended from Adam in their natural state. In this text we have an excellent type for man hopelessly fallen in sin, yet the LORD provides a remedy for them that will look upon the One that hung upon the pole. A beautiful type of Christ dying for sinners, that they might have life, and have it more abundantly.
