Made in God's Image

What exactly does it mean that we are created in the image of God? What are its implications? Then, once we get beyond these questions, Genesis 1:28 tells us that we have been commissioned to subdue and have dominion over God's creation here on earth. Does this mean that we can dominate plants and animals in any way we may want?
