The Word Was God

In what many are calling a ‘post-truth’ culture, everyone is encouraged to live in the light of their own ‘word’ rather than accept the absolute truth of any other word. It is into this moral and spiritual darkness that the true Word shines: not simply as a set of Christian beliefs or even a moral code but the revelation of One who is the very author and source of life.
Only One who was ‘face to face’ with God in the beginning, sharing the very life of God as the One through whom God made the universe, can show us the truth of life and the truth of God. Here we have not merely another ‘word’ to compete with all the other ‘words’ but the very Word of life Himself.
In a few simple, yet profound, phrases John draws back the curtain of this present world to the time before creation to unapologetically declare the greatness of Jesus Christ. No other explanation can make adequate sense of the Person we meet in the pages of John’s gospel. Here we meet One who comes to liberate us from the empty, deadening lies of this world into the grace and truth of 'face to face' relationship with the living God.
