040 Assurance, Foreknowledge, Predestination

Assurance of final salvation is one of the Christian's greatest treasures. There are, however, things that will rob you of this great blessing. Ignorance of truth is the principal culprit, one that Paul is trying hard to eliminate. If a Christian is to find assurance concerning eternity he must look away from himself to the work of Jesus Christ and the promises of God recorded in the Bible. If we follow Paul’s arguments and instruction, if we embrace as true the astonishing revelations before us in the Holy Scriptures we will find rest for our souls. Every Christian ought to have the confidence that Paul had about our final salvation expressed in the words of Philippians 1:6 NASB. "For I am confident of this very thing, that HE WHO BEGAN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL PERFECT IT UNTIL THE DAY OF CHRIST JESUS."
