Pashur A Man in Terror

64

Jeremiah would to be persecuted by Pashur a Temple officer. He would be beaten and put in the stocks but the next day when Jeremiah is released he speaks the word of the Lord against Pashur and all Judah. This time to say that Pashur would find that his name would be changed to Magor-missabib, meaning, (he would be in terror all around). The enemy, Babylon and its armies would violently take all Judah and Pashur's family away to Babylon. Jeremiah goes through a difficult time and even laments his lot as a prophet of God because of the distress it caused him to preach this message of doom and judgment. Yet the word of God was a fire in his bones, and he could not stop preaching the message God gave him.
