Taking Ourselves Seriously - God Does

This sermon was preached before the 2014 Spring School at St Stephens Anglican Church, Mittagong NSW. The school's theme was: Could it be that the church suffers from an identity crisis? Could it be that we think we are expected to fulfil all sorts of obligations if we are to be truly the church?
But suppose that the church were simply to find itself in God himself. And imagine what it would be if our plans and goals were not to accomplish anything, just be the church, equipped by God to be participants in the divine nature.
This Spring School wants to show that the great purpose of God is ultimately God himself and that our true hope is that ‘God will be all in all’.
