Why I Write to You
Series 1 Corinthians
132
It was Paul's habit to dictate his letters and someone else to write them. Likely he had poor eye sight and the task was difficult for him. But to personalize the letters he would take the pen at the end and in his own hand write the final words of blessing. In the letter to the Galatians he notes, "See with what large letters I am writing you in my own hand..." Now the end of the letter has come and the writing on the document held the Corinthians changes. The print is larger and less fluid. Paul has taken up the pen to write the last lines of farewell. Here he will reveal all that has motivated him in writing to them this tough letter. They should know, they need to know.
