A. Hearing Christ, vv19-21

1. know this, v19a (wherefore, KJV) - Gk. ὥστε

• a. all of v19 because Christ is sovereign God (vv16-18)

2. be quick to hear, v19b

• a. Gk. ταχὺς εἰς τὸ ἀκοῦσαι
• b. Deut 6:4; Ecc 5:1; Matt 7:24-27; Luke 11:28

3. slow to speak, v19c

• a. Gk. βραδὺς εἰς τὸ λαλῆσαι

4. slow to anger, v19d

• b. hasty anger is opposite of faithful patience, Jas 1:2
