Lord's Day 48 Jesus commands us to pray, Your kingdom come
35 ( 26 | 9 )
Jesus commands us to pray, Your kingdom come. This petition means:
- rule over us by Your Word and Spirit
- preserve and increase Your Church
- destroy ever power that raises itself against You
- do all this…until the fullness of your kingdom comes
Questions to think about during the sermon:
Point 1:
- How does God discipline us?
- What is the outcome of that discipline?
- What must we do before God can rule over us by His Word and Spirit?
Point 2: - How did Jesus become our King?
- If Jesus is our King, then who is our worst enemy?
Point 3: - Is Your Kingdom Come a prayer for God to destroy (ungodly) governments in Ottawa and Victoria as “powers that raise themselves against God”?
Point 4: - If we pray for God’s kingdom to come, who is in control now?
