Lord's Day 48 Jesus commands us to pray, Your kingdom come

35 ( 26 | 9 )

Jesus commands us to pray, Your kingdom come. This petition means:

  1. rule over us by Your Word and Spirit
  2. preserve and increase Your Church
  3. destroy ever power that raises itself against You
  4. do all this…until the fullness of your kingdom comes

Questions to think about during the sermon:
Point 1:

  1. How does God discipline us?
  2. What is the outcome of that discipline?
  3. What must we do before God can rule over us by His Word and Spirit?
    Point 2:
  4. How did Jesus become our King?
  5. If Jesus is our King, then who is our worst enemy?
    Point 3:
  6. Is Your Kingdom Come a prayer for God to destroy (ungodly) governments in Ottawa and Victoria as “powers that raise themselves against God”?
    Point 4:
  7. If we pray for God’s kingdom to come, who is in control now?
