Preaching: the Reformers and Hugh Latimer

Whenever God's Spirit begins to revive and reform the church preaching comes to the fore. The Reformation was no exception and Luther, Zwingli and Calvin all excelled as preachers. Their convictions about preaching were moulded by the Word of God. In England the outstanding preacher was Hugh Latimer. He was a bold, colourful, witty and conscience-striking preacher called to preach before Henry VIII and Edward VI as well as the common people. We trace his biblical convictions from some of his sermons.
