Animals, and the Image Bearer

God made all land animals from the earth on Day Six. On this same day He also made man a unique creature, in His own image. Because man is in God's image, he is capable of ruling over the rest of God's creation—in knowledge, wisdom, righteousness, and power. Indeed, man is commanded by God to rule over all things. Men and women are therefore distinguished from all of the rest of the creatures, and have the unique charter to show forth God's glory and likeness by ruling justly over the creation.
