The Nuts & Bolts Of Salvation

153 ( 69 | 84 )

Every Christian should know the wonderful doctrine of salvation that is contained in the Bible.

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

The Word Doctrine means teaching or instruction.
We as believers in Jesus Christ should know the fundamental teachings of our faith.

Remember in Luke 2 the Angel of the Lord announced the GOOD NEWS of salvation to the shepherds out in the fields.

A Saviour had been born at Bethlehem, because mankind's greatest need is salvation.

Sadly few people in Australian society realise their need for a Saviour.
Willmington's Guide to the Bible says:
Salvation means to effect successfully the full delivery of someone or something in impending danger…

The very word (salvation) carries with it a two-fold implication. That someone or something needs to be saved and that someone is able and willing to save.

Now a simple definition of SALVATION is to be rescued from PERIL.
All of humanity is in peril because ALL of us have sinned against a Holy God.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

There two types of deaths in the Bible.
There is physical death and there is also a spiritual death.
All of humanity has to die because of sin.
Actually there was one man that never had to die, His name is Jesus.

Man without Christ is spiritually dead. The believers that Paul wrote to in the City of Ephesus were spiritually dead before they came to Christ.
Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened (made alive) who were dead in trespasses and sins;
