Fortunes Restored

The historical setting for Psalm 126 is most likely the return of the Jews to the Promised Land after the 70 year exile in Babylon. Yet the truth here of a time of suffering followed by relief and joy is applicable to all Christians. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Whatever the cause of our suffering, "It, too, will end." And ultimately, Christ will return, and his church will enter into into the joy of her Lord.
