I. God's Expectations of Repentance Regarding Sins of Sexuality

321

It is to the initial conceptual level of sin that Jesus brings our attention. The place to deal with sin is at this conceptual level, before the believer is “drawn away of his own lust.” It is to this conceptual level of sin that the believer must come in repentance before God. The intent is to deal with sin at the conceptual level BEFORE the damage is done and the eternal consequences of that sin begins to be released. The conceptual level of sin is spiritually in the heart before it becomes and action of the body in the world. This is where Christ takes us in Matthew 5:27-30 in defining repentance in the heart regarding perverted sexuality and sensuality. Both sexuality and sensuality must be dealt with in repentance.
