Are We Not Obligated?

- Jesus taught His disciples concerning their obligation to the multitude (John 6:5-6).
John 17:18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
Consider context of John chapter 17
a. Believers had an obligation because of the debt that we owe to others (Romans 1:14-16)
• The Christian should be able to describe himself this way:
Vs 14 I am a debtor
Vs 15 I am ready (see below)
Vs 16 I am not ashamed

b. Believers have an obligation which makes it a necessity (1Corinthians 9:16)
1 Corinthians 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
c. Believers have an obligation because of the common enemy (2Corinthians 4:3-4)
d. Note: The proving of Philip by Christ is a common practice of God with His people (Exodus 16:4; Deuteronomy 8:1-3; Deuteronomy 13:1-3; Hebrews 11:17)
