Counsel for the King

King David gave counsel to his son, Solomon who became king in his father's place so that he might serve the Lord as the anointed king. It is the sort of counsel God the Father would give to His eternal Son. He was given a purpose and his whole life was to be lived toward fulfilling that purpose. So also we are to fulfill the purpose for which God made us--that we might glorify and enjoy Him.
