Plans, Priorities, Providence & Prayer

As we saw last week Paul explained to the church at Rome why he has never visited their church and what he plans to do about it. Now we see that Paul also admits that he can't come just yet. Not until he goes on one more ministry trip to Jerusalem. Then he plans to visit Rome on the way to Spain. So, as Paul shares his past and his plans, it is clear that God's will (providence) is always the deciding factor in what has happened and what will happen. (In fact, that is true whether we like it, or even know it, or not!) This is all just old hat for Paul: mapping out his itinerary and penciling in his calendar. Then starting out and waiting to see what God actually does. And sometimes it is ....different. Yet Paul goes on making plans and dreaming dreams AND PRAYING! So this morning let's talk about how you pray when you are making your plans.
