Who Is My Neighbor?

Who is my neighbor? Is the guy holding a sign on the street corner my neighbor? What about the homeless addict whose been living in the woods behind Target in Coeur d’Alene? Is she my neighbor? Who is my neighbor? As you probably know, that question provoked one of Jesus’ best-known teachings – the parable of the Good Samaritan. The parable illustrates true love for God and others. “ You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself. ” (Luke 10:27, NKJV) Jesus’ parable suggests a better question when obvious human needs are put directly in front of us: “What kind of person am I?"
