Two Motivating Appearings

The first appearing of Jesus Christ was an appearing of grace. The second appearing is an appearing of glory. Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. Grace also teaches us to live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present. The glory of our Great God and Savior is demonstrated in the fact that He gave Himself for us (14a), redeemed us from every lawless deed (14b), and purified us for Himself (14c).
