The Futility of Life

67

Life is pointless. This is the only conclusion an honest but irreligious man could arrive at. Man's life is brief and meaningless. He faces the fate of all others who have preceded him: an open grave, and the memory of him lost in time. The cycles we see in nature are permanent, whereas man is constantly replaced. These considerations should drive a man to despair of ever finding meaning in life, yet this is often the very means God uses to teach a man that fear of him is the answer to the great riddle of life.
