Justification by faith proved from the Old Testament

The Old Testament method of salvation is exactly the same as the New Testament method, and that is that the man who trusts in Jesus no longer has his sins reckoned to him. His sins are no longer on his account. His moral account has been credited with the righteousness of God, which God has provided through the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. God looks upon the man who believes as though he has lived the perfect life of that Jesus lived. We should therefore abandon any confidence in our own attempts to make ourselves good enough to go to heaven, and put all our trust in what God has done for us in Christ.
