1 Chronicles 16 “The Primacy of Thanksgiving”
Sermon Notes from Pastor Dennis Tuuri for November 18, 2007

Intro: Hebrews 12:22-24; Acts 15:16; Ps. 50:2
Tabernacle of David Worship was a transition step between tabernacle and temple worship. It began with the advent of the ark to Mount Zion, in Jerusalem, and was distinct from tabernacle sacrifices at Gibeon and later temple worship at Mt. Moriah, also in Jerusalem. It was integrated into later Temple worship in a very significant way. After its initiation, Zion worship was bloodless, involved music and song, occurred in the direct presence of the ark, in an undivided worship environment, where Jews and Gentile god-fearers were brought together.
Our proper response to these truths of God's Word is a renewed appreciation of, commitment to, and delight in, the Psalms and musical instruments in worship, and a desire to better understand Zion worship as we model it in our worship services, and into the rest of our lives (formal, corporate worship; informal corporate worship [Festus Dei], family worship, personal worship).
