Reproach, Repentance, Revival

The middle chapter of Joel's prophecy features the warning of impending judgment and the comfort of the Gospel. In this chapter, God calls His people to the place of true repentance and promises that He will revive His work among His people. The parallels between the situation depicted by Joel's language and the situation confronting Western civilization early in the 21st century are eerie. In its battle for survival against the forces of Islamic terrorism, the West will do well to hear the Word of God and to bow in humble submission before it.
