Blessed Reminders

Introduction

1. Peter's Promise (v12, 13)

• Peter knows their propensity to forget, so he promises not to let them down in consistently reminding them of the things they had learned, as long as he lives.

2. Peter's Pronouncement (v14)

• By lifetime measurements, he knows his time is short and wants to redeem the time remaining for the good of the people.

3. Peter's Plan (v15)

• Certainly this letter will be left as a reminder, possibly the gospel of Mark for which some think Peter was a significant source of information.
  Summary
• Redeem the time.
• Seek opportunities, with grace and toughness, to confirm one another in our most holy faith.
• Be calm in the face of death.
• Be sure you are ready to die.
