The Danger of Deception

Many people want to pretend that all is fine, even though they know their lives are empty. They live with an outward show of satisfaction with themselves. Yet all is not well, for such self-deception brings judgment at the end.

   Application: 1. Do not be fooled by the vain boasting of sinners. 2. Be aware of the subtlety of self-deception. 3. A warning to sinners: self-flattery is the path to judgment. 4. The hypocrisy of our society. 5. The single greatest loss - not 'valiant for the truth.' 6. When we dedicate ourselves to living for God's glory alone, we will cast off everything contrary to that.
