Behaving in Church

Paul's first epistle to Timothy is an instruction manual on how to behave in church. Paul develops four main themes on how to conduct church ministry:

I. Sound Teaching (ch. 1 & 4)
A. Doctrinal teaching to combat error
B. Substantive teaching to promote godliness

II. Prayer (2:1-8)
A. For governmental authorities
B. For the unsaved

III. Leadership (2:8-3:16)
A. Male leadership
B. Godly leadership

IV. Relationships (ch. 5-6)
A. Honor for fellow members
B. Separation from false teachers
