The call to action

While Zacharias was prophesying to his son John the Baptist about his future mission, he was also speaking in place of God as God giving out our marching orders in the carrying out of the Great Commission. We see here both how we are to bring the great commission into our lives as well as sharing with the world the need to get their lives right with Almighty God. The need to be saved, stay right with God and getting right with Him when we go astray.
