Elders & Deacons: Introduction, Development, and Importance

In 1 Tim. 3, Paul continues his instruction on the roles of men and women in the church by now giving the qualifications for the two offices in the church--offices to be held by men only. This sermon introduces the offices of Elder (Pastor/Shepherd/Overseer/Bishop/Elder are interchangeable terms for the same office) and Deacon by outlining their distinguishing marks, their development in the book of Acts, and their utter importance for the health of the church and the proclamation of Christ.
