2 Peter 1:1-15

In this section, Peter reminds his readers of the patient progress that we make in our pursuit of holiness — the kind of perseverance that provides the greatest assurance of our salvation. There have been myriad ideas presented through church history of how to attain holiness in an easier or quicker way; but Peter warns his readers that such ideas lead to destruction, and are propagated by false teachers. Only consistent endurance builds properly on the foundation of our faith.
