The Macedonian Call
We are introduced to Timothy. Luke also now joins Paul as he takes his party to Macedonia after having a vision from God. Entering the foremost colony of Philippi they find some women at the riverside meeting for prayer. Paul's custom of going to the synagogue to preach first was apparently diverted. It takes a certain amount of men to have a quorum. After Lydia is saved Paul and company stay there. They then encounter a slave girl fortune teller who is possessed by a demon (spirit of divination) in which Paul after several days casts it out.
