The Jerusalem Council's Letter

The early church is faced with a decision regarding the place of the Gentiles.The whole church agrees to send chosen men to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. This is a corporate decision made in the highest court of the church,

We look at the preamble of the letter. It is a very pastoral letter showing humility. It is then followed by sharp rebuke to the Judaizers. There is a tone of sorrow that these men are spreading false teaching. We are reminded to bow the knee to none other than Christ Jesus.
