Christian: Do You Doubt God's Love?

Following the words spoken by the Servant of the Lord Himself, we now consider the words of Jehovah with respect to the glorious salvation that He will accomplish through the Servant. Remembering that Isaiah is addressing the Old Covenant people of God in their future exile, he reminds them of the “exodus” of God. In other words, God will be faithful to eventually deliver His people from their bondage and oppression. However, since His people don't always respond to His word by faith, the Lord reminds them again of His precious promises to them. This is really the heart of the entire matter, and it reveals to us something of the love and patience of God for His people. I develop God's point by carefully opening up what He reveals about Himself and His relationship to His people. It is nothing short of glorious! But I also point out that this is not just ancient history, but these same principles are true for the people of God today. Therefore, we too should be encouraged as we continue in our “earthly exile,” awaiting our ultimate deliverance in the age to come. May God be pleased to bless the preaching of His word!
