The Authority of Angels

82

The thought of authority is a distasteful one to Postmodern minds and ears. The autonomy of the individual is regarded as supreme in the pantheon of verities to be sought after. The decline of biblical regard for authority is infecting the church of Jesus Christ and is having its inevitable results in the crumbling of sound biblical theology and practice. This study series builds upon the previous study of “Postmodernity and Christianity,” which examined the philosophical foundations of the Post Modern view of objective and absolute Truth.

Our previous lessons examined the absolute authority of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, God's Word in Scripture, and the Holy Spirit. At this point we give attention to delegated authority within the creation. Jesus revealed that there is no authority except that given by God. This session examines the authority God delegates to his angels and how it has been exercised in biblical history.

A course notebook is being developed concurrently with this series. Upon completion it will be available at a nominal charge, upon request.
