God's Purpose in Suffering

Knowing that creation is in Christ's hands means we are rescued from the fear and uncertainty of thinking that we are in creation's hands and that our happiness and future depends on the forces, both life giving and destructive, that are in play in this world. Suffering that is brought about by living in a world that is under a curse falls into proper perspective when we catch a vision of God's eternal purpose for His people, and see that, in fact, the entire universe's destiny is determined by the sure destiny of those who are in Christ, and who are created to be for the praise of his glory.
