A. Hearing Christ, vv19-21

1. know this, v19a (wherefore, KJV) - Gk. ὥστε

• a. all of v19 because Christ is sovereign God (vv16-18)
  --- i. do we gripe or complain?
  --- ii. does our faith falter, fail, or become fickle at times?

2. be quick to hear, v19b

• a. Gk. ταχὺς εἰς τὸ ἀκοῦσαι
• b. Deut 6:4; Ecc 5:1; Matt 7:24-27; Luke 11:28
  --- i. do we "listen" to Christ by reading His word daily?
  -- ii. desire to hear Christ from His Word to exalt Him by His Word?

3. slow to speak, v19c
