The King Takes the Throne

Every eye will see what John describes as happening here, the question is what is happening and also when was this event in terms of redemptive history and the relation of heavenly activity and earthly reality? The language is a clue and should stir within us reverence and awe as we see our Redeemer take the throne of heaven and earth. Our Redeemer is the King and for this reason His kingship will be made known to all, saint and sinner alike, and all who trust in Him will mourn over their sins, enter into His suffering, and be raised and seated with Him in glory.
