(7) How to Clash with the World
Series Acts 2021
A number of years ago I had the privilege of starting a debate program in a small Christian school. After coaching, viewing and judging numerous debates I learned why one of the most important elements in a debate is something called clash. Clash refers to the intentional and meaningful conflict of ideas. Without clash debates are boring and rarely move either position forward (like a boxing match where the opponents just dance around each other). But when two opposing ideas clash truth can engage with error and prevail.
God intends for his people to clash with the world. Dancing around our opponents doesn't move the kingdom forward. Playing it safe and keeping our ideas to ourselves is not God's plan for his spiritual army.
Peter and John's clash with unbelieving leaders can help us how to face resistance with godliness.
