Coming To the Father

203 ( 192 | 11 )

Declaring that Jesus came to reveal the Father may seem to be stating an obvious truth but the reality of knowing God as Father alludes many. That one of the great cries of the Holy Spirit in the heart of every believer is the cry 'Abba – Father' tells us how significant God's fatherhood really is. If the loss, absence or failure of human fathering has such a deep effect on us, what might it mean to discover a deeper revelation of God's great Fatherhood?Could our fallen reaction and unrighteous anger against authorities that have failed or disappointed us be neutralized by such a revelation? Surely loving the Father as sons (and daughters) and doing all that He commands is the way of true peace and purpose no matter how difficult our circumstance. Any imagined freedom and autonomy to do whatever seems right in our own eyes is a lie and has only ever brought emptiness and shame. The truth is we can love the Father because He first loved us!
