The Full Assurance of Hope
The apostle faced a tough situation. Many who had professed Christ were not genuine believers. They were hybrids. They joined law and grace, and, made ceremonies to be as saving as the Savior, Jesus Christ. They made the darkness of the shadows to be equal with the the Light of the Gospel. In so doing, they rejected "the word of righteousness" and turned aside from the truth.
