Controversy: Justification by Faith Alone in Christ Alone

39

After dealing successfully with the attempts of the evil one to halt the gospel from the outside (trying to dam up the well of the gospel by persecution, pride, persistence) during the 1st missionary journey, now the church is forced to deal with new tactics to render the gospel useless from the inside (adding poison to the well of the gospel).

The controversy over how to deal with circumcision and the law, as recorded in Acts 15, would lead to the first church council to convene. The most important issue at stake was the foundation of Christianity--Justification by Faith Alone in Christ Alone (emphasis on "alone").

This sermon explains the foundation to this controversy, then defines and defends the true doctrine of Justification by Faith ALONE, and uses Paul's serious defense of Justification by Faith in the related letter to the Galatians to both understand Acts 15 and to understand Justification.
