52. Rise of Absalom
Series Warriors and Poets
Nothing is so dangerous to a leader as those who murmur and suggest that they would do it differently if they were in charge. Many churches have been split by associate pastors suggesting they would handle things differently than the pastor. Absalom sat at the gates and heard the cases of those who needed the king's decisive action in matters. He often suggested that he would probably handle things differently than his father. Undiscerning people began to think that perhaps Absalom should be king. Absalom is a striking lesson in how the devil likes to subvert the authority of God's Word in our lives. Richard Rohlin takes you deep inside this Old Testament history lesson and brings some practical applications to make us wise to the attacks of the enemy. ichard Rohlin is the worship pastor at First Baptist Church Las Colinas in Irving, TX -- a family integrated Baptist Church in the Baptist Missionary Association (BMA).
