The 5 R’s of Chapter 3 (vs. 1-10):

1. Receive (vs. 1-2; Jeremiah 1:7; Ezekiel 2:7)

· A Second Chance for Jonah

· Received His Commission from the Lord

· Preach the Message That the Lord Tells Us

2. Repeat (vs. 3-4)

· Did “According to the word of the Lord” (v. 3a; Psalm 119:67, 71; Hebrews 12:11)

· Nineveh – The Great “City to God” (v. 3b; Calvin; Augustine) – A City of Great Wickedness
